Afro – Cuban
Afro Cuban Dance originated in West Africa and was introduced to Cuba and the Western part of the island. Become a grounded and powerful dancer as we lead you through the fundamentals of Afro-Cuban dance and movement. This class will focus on the Afro Cuban movement from different elements of the Orishas. You will learn the origin, history and culture of the dance. We focus on body isolations, body awareness, and proper technique. Once you have learned the foundation you can apply the movement to different genres of dance.
Suitable for all levels, and those with no experience are welcome.
Cadence Dance Academy offers Afro Cuban classes and Afro Cuban lessons in the Toronto and Pickering area.

Cadence Dance Academy was founded by Patrick Danquah and Clifton Stennett in 2009 with a vision to share their unmistaken love for dance.

Cadence Dance Academy is an all inclusive dance company offering lessons, classes, performances and choreography in Salsa, Cha Cha, Urbanized Cha Cha, Bachata, Afro Cuban, Dancehall and Zumba. Cadence is also available to participate in Special Events.
